Does anyone have any picture of their tanks running 10k reeflux bulbs? I am trying to decide if I should get them over hammy 14ks.
Thanks!

to get an idea of the colors you can get from reeflux bulbs, take a look at this months tank of the month on the front page of reefcentral. the guy only uses a mix of 10 and 12k reeflux bulbs with no suppliments.

I used these bulbs for about a month, I was very happy with them, best color and growth I had experienced, then they stopped firing

Here is an older pic of my tank with just the 250watt Reeflux 10k
It makes the overall appearance of the tank look funky but the corals look much better. ![]() Here is the Hamilton 14k with one less reflector in the middle. Overall tank appearance is nicer, but corals don't shine as much. ![]() |

nikonosis..thanks..its very close to what it looks like in real life. id say its a little whiter than the pics make it look, but not much different. fwiw, these arent blue enough for me, so ill probably jump to 12ks in a few months.

Sabodish,
Strange, your pics didn't show up the first time I came here. Nice tank! Wow that is extremely purple. It looks like the new icecap ballast fires the bulb up differently. How old are your bulbs? Gabe |
