T-5/ Anemone

Hey all,

Well I have lately become fed up with my display fuge because it will not stay clean! So i want to turn it into a display tank! What i was thinking about doing was putting my unhappy rose anemone in there from my display and maybe some fast growing clove/daisy polyps in there. The lighting fixture that I was looking at was the Nova Extreme, Nova Extreme, What do you all think about keeping an anemone under these lights, also those of you T-5 people out there can you give me some good feedback on how you like the T-5's.

Thanks,

Matt

How deep is the tank? I have a Nova Extreme on my 30 gal. long and I am very happy with it. I know its limitations but in a shallow, small tank it does its job. That being said I would not try an anemone under this fixture. You will need a fixture with individual reflectors and better lamps. Aquatinics makes a good one. I do not plan on keeping any of the high light species (clams, certain sps, anemones) so I went with the Nova Extreme. If you tank is going to be designed for an anemone T5 with individual reflecters or halides are a must. For what it is worth of all the tanks I have seen I like the looks of a multi-tube T5 over halides, I think it has to do with the flexibilty of spectrums with the 4,5, or 6 bulb layout.

My BTA thrives in a 65g with this fixture. Other anemones do require stronger lighting, yes.
