Copper elimination

I was just given a 125 gallon tank that was used for freshwater. I'm not sure if copper had been used in it but I want to make sure that I won't have any problems with it as a reef tank. What is the best method of eliminating trace copper from an aquarium?

Thanks,
Brian

its very easily done with a good wash in vinegar and then rinsed with RO.
