Astrea snail shell-less
i noticed that one of my astrea snails was going naked last night, no shell. is this normal? only the moon light was on so i couldnt really see an empty shell anywhre but ill look in the morning. there are no hermits in the tank to steal its shell. any ideas?

stomatella are snail like creatures with real small shells http://www.melevsreef.com/id/snails.html

Must be a stomatella if it is a snail. Could be a sea slug of some sort. I am guessing stomatella though as they are very common in the reef as a hitch hiker.
