Actual water volume

How do you calculate your actual water volume?

For example:
Tank Volume - Sand bed - rock volume + sump volume - refugium rock and sand volume = total water volume

How do I estimate or calculate my rock volume?

That is what I would use to calculate the water volume. I am not sure how that would work with the rock volume that is a good question.

You probably just have to estimate it. What you said would be how you would do it though. You've gotta figure how much your pump in your sump takes up, powerheads, skimmer, and all of your equipment. You also have to add the water that is in your plumbing when you calculate it out.

Is there some reason you have to do this?
