Question Quick sump plumbing question. Will this work.

So I just got a new sump and need to plumb it.

Heres my plan

The O on the down pipe is a gate vaulve to control flow to the refugium and deflect most of the pressure into the skimmer chamber. Any input is appreciated.

Oh also, should I use rigid pvc, or the heavy clear flex hose?

Looks fine, I would plumb it to the far side of the skimmer so the water flows past the skimmer to the baffles.
