Chiller Flow Rate
I have a chiller that I am going to be piping it in this weekend... The max flow rate for the chiller is 350 GPH... Do i have to make sure that the flow rate is less than that, or no matter what i put to the chiller on 350 will go through it....
My return pump is a little giant 2 MDQ rated at 465 gph... I will be running the return line from my sump through the chiller and then to the tank... Dream |

You have to make sure that you're not pumping more than the max flowrate through the chiller. But also take into account head loss from gravity and plumbing, plus the chiller itself will add some head loss. Your pump may come out just right. Try the head loss calculator on the home page to find out.

Best to flow a bit less than Max flow. Seem to get a better difference between entering and leaving temps at a slightly lower flow rate.
