400 watt MH?
Right now i have a 24" Coralife Aqualife with a 150w double ended MH. If i bought a Icecap 400w ballast, could i just change the bulb to a 400w bulb? Might be a stupid question, but i don't want my house to burn down!!

No he is talking about a fixture that incorporates both MH's and T5's without it being a retro kit.
You will be hard pressed to find a fixture that incorporates a 400 mh with T5's. Your best bet will be a 250HQI fixture which actually runs at about 330 watts. At least my 250HQI's run at that. You can get a PFO fixture with 175-400w MH and VHO bulbs. I am assuming you are using the T5's for actinic supplementation. If so there is not a T5 actinic bulb that can compare to the VHO actinic bulb. Last edited by SlowCobra; 10/02/2007 at 08:38 AM. |
