Termite Control
Well... the scheduled termite inspection is coming really fast and if I need to tent the house what do I do to my aquarium? Has any one here has gone thru this procedure of tenting a house with a reef aquarium....I'm panicking as we speak......

One option other than tenting is to drill the walls and shoot timbor or such into the walls. Timbor is harder to get all the termites particularly if they are subteranean but any areas that are treated are good forever( or a least a long time).
Tenting kills everything under the tarps but subs outside the tarps can return immediately and drywood termites (especially in FL) can come back the next spring with the next swarm. I treat all my mobile homes with Timbor, its 1/3 the price and you never have to move out. And it won't affect your tanks.

You could make another tent that goes over the tank that is fed fresh air with a big ducting fan and some ducting that runs into the house and into this little tent.
As long as you keep a positive pressure in the tank tent, no chemicals should get in. Just a total shot in the dark. First thing that came to mind. Have it all air(ish) tight with only one vent hole and the ducting leading in. Kinda makes sense in theory right? I dunno.

wax is right, cover tank and get a positive air inflow going into it, you could also send the air intake tubing of skimmer to an outside source of air, when covering tank do the 3 days lights out (hopefully it will only take 3 days) well just some toughts, btw if u get an anteater where are you going to put it after, lol

I think i would tear it down and get it out of there or look into another option to treat the termites. They have other programs available then tenting.
