Light sched

Hi,

I purchased a 28G jbj hqi which has a 150W MH and also a chiller. I would like to save money since electricity is fairly expensive here in California. I was wondering what light schedule could I keep that would be the lowest amount of time but still provide my corals with adequate light. I currently run my lights from 4:00PM to 12:00AM.

Thanks!

Paul

well if youre really trying to save money you would run the lights at night, and not at peek hours when everyone is using electricity. I run my lights for 12 hours, many people use different time schedules. I've heard people running their lights at night too just to keep the temp down. it also depends on when you want your lights to be on. Some people work during the day, so they have their lights go on at night when they are home. Well my point is that i think electricity is cheaper when everyone in your timezone is sleeping.

I run mine from 6 to 7 hours and they kick on at 4pm. I've found this helps with algae growth too.
