Heater recommendations
I have a Medusa temperature controller, but I need to replace my heater. Can someone recommend a good durable one.
Thanks in advance, Gary |

and yes, they are fully submersible. they just dont have some U.S. certificate because they moved their company. but certified in europe and other areas to be fully submersible mine have been fully submersed for a year and a half...I still put my hand in the water next to them like I'm not supposed to

I personally like to use titanium heaters.I have had glass heaters spontaneously pop in My sump(twice) and scare the living sh#t out of Me.I`ll never use one again.

I have had good luck with ebo jaeger. I recently purchased a aqua medic titanium heater and am using that with a medusa controller with good results.

I use several ebo jager heaters. I prefer to use them with an external thermostat/controller and feel very comfortable with them. I have never not run one submerged....
I like titaniums for being shatterproof but have not found them to be as long lived as glass heaters. |

I have a Medusa HC-150 controller. The heaters that I've used with it are:
- The Eheim Jager which can be calibrated, and - The Fluval Tronic which has rubber guards on both ends of the glass tube and can be set on the bottom of a sump without suction cups. If you've purchased the A-20 calibrating thermometer from Sea Life Supply, you will probably appreciate the calibration feature of the Eheim Jager heaters. There is a review of Miller & Weber calibrating thermometers in the review section (http://www.reefcentral.com/modules.p...content&id=179). Since the Medusa has been discontinued, have you thought about your next controller? |
