question about coral death
hey guys
i was gone for 4 days , and my only montipora died on me. nothing happened to the tank, besides the lack of me dosing bionic2part which i do every other day. went to the store and got parameters checked and they said they were perfect. so my question is, could it have been the lack of the 2part supplement for those 4 days that made the monti bleach completely? |

I cant see it deing completly in just 4 days. Monti would shows signs before its completly gone.
You should really invest in a test kit as frequent testing help catch problems before they get to bad and i would never trust the LFS for water testing. Whats the light ? What do you feed him ? Whats the water source ? Any coral that are close to him ? How long has this system been up and running ? |

there is always a chance the monti was on the fast train to nowhere before you left. sometimes corals get sick of life for no obvious reason
it could also be the canary in a coal mine: advanced warning of some problem do a partial waterchange and watch everything just a bit more closely for a while. only time will tell if you have already checked everything that you can measure(and sounds like you did)
