CoralLife Calcium Reactor

Just wondering about the reliablity of these reactors. First question why is this so much cheaper than the other reactors. Does anyone have one of these and do you like it? Just trying to find out if I should just pay the extra bucks and get a Korallin...

I'm currently using the smaller version, soon to trade up due to increasing load.

Mine came in with a crimped o-ring on the pump; they replaced in less than a week after I called.

Pump still leaked after replacing o-ring, they replaced the pump and the o-ring after I called.

It works fine now, well within advertised spec. Only other equipment needed for operation is a ph controller, probe, and CO2.

The pump draws the water in to the reactor from the sump, runs it through the reactor, and returns is to the sump, with the flow control on the intake side of the water pump (its designed for a slow flow, in drips per second). No other pump is needed if it working correctly.

Are you planning on using it in a new coral setup, or your FOWLR aquarium? I don't think I'd spend the change on a FOWLR unless you're planning on adding some coral or clams.

Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Ray

No Im converting the FOWLR to a full acro tank. I will have a couple of clams and zoos. But lots and lots of acros. Im just starting to get all the stuff ready. Got a 6' Maristar fixture on the way, I know I am going to need a Calcium reactor, and thinking of getting a ACJR with a temp, and PH probe. I cant think of anything else... Suggestions
