new tank, level itself?
i built my custom stand for my new 120. its going in place of my 55g, and the 55 is in the stand of the 120. the 55 will becomre the sump, after the 120 cycles.
all my livestock is in the 55(in the stand) and im working on filling the 120 and then mixing the salt and cycling the new stuff.... well the 55 in the stand knocked the tank off level. the back dropped about 1/4in. the 55 is in the back of the stand, there is about 5in of room for me to moove the 55 towards the front of the stand. the 120 is filled a lil more the half way. im kinda worried the weight of 120 wont level it back out. you guys think it will?

Depends on what caused the shift. Did the stand sink into some carpet? What do you think caused the stand to become uneven?

I don't think it will level it self. But it depends on what threw it outta wack. Like Konadog asked, what do you think caused it?

sounds like the weight of the 120 and 55 compressed whatever the stand was on revealing an uneven floor. I would shim it back into a level state. just my 2 cents.

i think the 55 threw it off, plus the stand design.
its on carpet. the bottom of the stand(that contacts the carpet) is made of 2x4's. on the front and the sides, the 2x4's are laid down flat(3.5in side laying down) and the back, the skinny side toutches the floor. so there is less surface area toutching the floor, meaning it will compress more. i got this design from on here, its the ones with the collums. and i never would have thought of this. last night i emtpied the 55, and pushed it as far to the front as i could get it, and its now 3/16 off. before it was more around 1/4-5/8, i eyeballed it. i should got the exact amount, but its about half of what it was now. the 120 is about 3/4 full, i will be full in a lil bit, im hoping it will help settle the front down. should i be worried about the 3/16?

I would level it now. You will be thinking about it the whole time the tank is set up. That 3/16 could turn into 1/2 in time. Where if its right now and it settles a bit no problem.
