calcium reactor "Size matter?"
Hi there
I am have a 75 g tank, planing next year convert it in SPS predominant, so I want to buy a Ca recator, I have a good dial on a reactor but is rater a lot bigger than tank (500g), could this be a problem? traing to get rigth the regulation on my tank? or Should I defenily look for some thing smaller? I want to mencion too than in a year I will upgrade to 100+ tank Thank you |

Undersizing is unsually the issue not oversizing.
Most people will count the drip rate into the tank and test to get the proper rate. Same on the CO2 side. It's can be a pain in the as* to get the right ballance for your tank. The issue with undersizing is once you get the correct flow rates you will blow through reactor material really fast. Oversized you will not have to fill it as often. With oversizing the reactor material will sit for a longer period of time so you will have to make very certin your CO2 level is correct or you will turn it into sludge. Hope this helps. |
