resealing inside of glass ?

my 125 has a small leak and chip in glass
has to be down along the bottom seem of the inside... was going to use a auto glass chip fix kit on the outside the glass.

in considering options
(vs buying all new) was interested in finding out what it would entail resealing this myself - best way to do it etc to prevent it from leaking again

intended to upgrade anyway
so was hoping this might be able to ATLEAST buy me some time for right now

Myself I would not trust the tank if the glass was chipped, 120+ gal. of water would not do a house good.

the chip is on outside like a bb gun hole or round hole on windshield from rock etc.

the leak is so 'minor'
that the only signs of it is some salt creep down the back of the stand - iow there is no water accumulation on ground below - seems like perhaps its so minute it 'dries before it gets to the bottom of the stand..

i noticed the salt creep mos ago and thought it strange
assumed it was from messing around inside and water splashing over the side.

Once the intergrity of the glass is broke. Glass becomes very unstable. As much as you dont want to here this I would get another. Auto glass is different as it as a very thin piece of plastic between to glass panels. So when the outside glass is chipped it is only the outside panel that is actually chipped.

Current Tank Info: I have a 180 gal mostly LPS corals, it contains 1 Val. Tang, 1 yellow striped clown fish, 3 percula clownfish, a blood shrimp, cleaner shrimp and a sand shifting goby, 5 pajama cardinals, 1 green chromis. Also a 75 gal. sump/fug.

Well, To buy you time you can just take a Glob of 100% silicone and put it all around of the inside and outside of the tank over the chip. Auto glass kits would do the job also. If it can fix a windshield it should fix a tank where the temp is close to the same at all times. A windshield crack takes a while to work its way across. Unless it is like 18* and you throw hot water on it. Then Boom cracks everywhere. I would use the Silicone atleast for now. Or use the car kit and silicone till you get a upgrade. Just realise it is a time bomb. I am almost sure the fuse is least 6 months long haha.
