Mag 12 big enough for multiple tanks?

I am setting up a system where my sump and 2 frag tanks will be in the garage and my main display will be plumbed through the wall.

The pump I have and plan on using is a mag 12 to Tee the return to all 3 tanks. The two frag tanks are 30g breeders and the main display is a 75g aga. Just wondering your thoughts before I spend all the money on plumbing parts to realize it is not enough flow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

-Matthew

well, the mag 12 does something like 1200 gph right? divide that by 3 and you have a max of 400 gph going to each tank. when you account for head loss and plumbing, it's probably a lot less than that. how far apart are the tanks from each other?

i run 2 90's and a 40 off a mag12, and even if its not enough flow, the plumbing work would virtaully be the same, you would just use a bigger pump.

I agree, after all the plumbing head loss etc you wont be happy with flow. You have to remember turnover in each tank as well and factor that in.
