turn a wet dry to a sump
how do i convert my wet dry to a sump?

it can be very easy depending on the actual container/tank size. You got any pics or know what model it is?
Usually it just involves taking out the sponge and bioballs if you use them. Then you add a series of baffles to create compartments for water to flow thru. If it's big enough people make a skimmer compartment, a refugium, and a return compartment. Do you have a submersible skimmer or hang on or external. Do you have a return pump, or one in mind? Again, submersible or external?

I agree. Just remove the filter media and, Presto, you now have a sump.

i have a hang on skimmer dont know the name of the wet dry but its 4 a 90 gallon, if i remove the filter media all the dirt and stuff my filter picks up will go back in my tank.

I just started doing the same thing. remove balls SLOWLY about a HANDFULL a day till there gone. keep a sponge somewhere to catch debris from going back into tank

so then why are the bio balls in a wet dry period, can i just let it run with no bioballs.and only my filter pad,remember ive necer had a problem with my tank and nitrates
