UV sterlizer, how many watts for a 125?

I want to get a UV sterilizer for my 125. It will be a FOWLR tank.

I was looking at these, I was thinking 25 watt but am guessing.

UV sterilizers are useless on recirculating systems....sorry I can't provide the references, but RC search is not working at the moment.

The wattage you needs depends how fast the water is passing through the UV sterilizer. If you hook it up inline with your return pump, you're going to need at least 40-55watts assuming your return pump is 600-700gph.

But if you use a small powerhead and run 250gph to it with the return water also returning to the pump section of the sump, even 15watts work fine.

Depending on how fast the wateris being passed thru it determines what watt bulb I need. I never thought of it that way, thatnks for the info. One last question, is there a certain way to find what GPH and wattage bulb to go with. EX. 400GPH I shoudl get this wattage bulb?
