AquaC ???Calcium Reactors????
I wanted to get everyones thoughts of this upcoming Calcium Reactor by AquaC. I downloaded the owners manual and really like the design, especially the way it recirculates the CO2.
I really like the build quality of my AquaC 120 skimmer and collection container, so I expect the same great craftsmanship on their CR too. So what do you think? |

Ask gcaroll, he's been using it and I think he loves it.
I like the design also..... the refill cap is so much easier to deal with compared to removing 50 screws and a huge flange on conventional reactors.

They are no longer upcoming. They are available now at Marine Depot. I love mine so far. One of the few reactors that does not need a feed pump.

No need for a maxijet or aqualifter to feed the pump from the tank. I say the only difference that gives the AquaC the edge is the smaller size (height and footprint) and screw on lid (I hate thumb screws). They both have reliable pumps and upflow design. Geo is probably cheaper.

AquaC does use a larger Eheim pump also.

Thanks Gcarroll. Do you have any photos of it running on your tank? How does it get the water to the reactor if you don't use a feed pump?

No pics of mine in action. Mine is the Beta tester for the larger version. Not the one that is available now.

How many mL a minute are you putting out of the reactor?

McCrary - never measured it. it is as fast of a drip without being a constant stream. My calcium load is much higher than most reefers.
tacocat - yep 24/7

Any one else running an AquaC reactor? Anyone looking to run one besides me?
Gcarrol do you think it would be stupid of me to sell my geo 618 and purchase an AquaC reactor? |

I am thinking of a calcium reactor as well
Does this have a pH port? I understand that this is an important feature Thanks Will |

I have one. Replaced my MRC one. Runs great. Love the lack of feed pump, small footprint and easy to add more media. Great ph port too.
