bristle worm attacked me
ok, I have a finger covered in bristle worms "things" They are white stinger like things. How the heck do i get them out!!
HELP!! |

use some tape...ive also heard something disolves the bristles but dont recall what...hydrogin peroxide ???

For future reference (and if they start itching shortly) it is vinegar that will disolve the spines. Good luck!

i am off to try the vinegar. Freaking stupid worms.... of course I have to be messing wiht my tank when I should be studying for Finals!!! Well, my fiance is getting a good laugh at me at least!!!!

Well, I dipped for 20 min adn it feels 10000 times better. still a bit annoying though.. It is gonna make adjusting patients tommorrow interesting to say the least!!
How long did you dip your in vinegar for?? How often should I be doing this treatment?? Thanks |

I think as long as you do it right afterward and "melt" the spines, you should be better off. I waited too long and the skin seemed to grow back over the bristles which (I think) caused the blisters from the spines working their way back out. You'll be OK, just itchy if they didn't all get out.

Willingness to laugh at yourself and put with spikes in your fingers $Priceless For everything else......there is Reef Central. thanks to everyone for helping me avoid all these minor crisis!!!
