Sunlight supply T5 Tek retro kit 48"

Has anyone else purchased this light fixture and the wiring that came with it are way too short?

Wondering if I can just add a wire connector to the ends of the wires and add additional wiring?

Yes, you can thats what I did. I would just suggest possibly some heat shrink or a good tape job just to protect the connection from corrosion. I like the retrofit, just ordered another

forget the tape, get heat shrinking and possibly even the waterproof/resistant butt connectors.

I havn't used their retrofits yet, but own two 48" fixtures (1-6bulb, 1-4 bulb) and couldn't be happier with the products.

Are the metalic fittings inside the sockets eventually going to corrode or are they stainless?

Mine havn't corroded yet, been using one of them going on 2 years now, with no splash guard attached. I believe the retrofits come with the water resistant/proof endcaps as well, whereas the fixtures like mine do not, but still working great.
