Sunpod 70w...turns off sometimes by itself?

I just bought a used Sunpod 70 DE....the owner said he only had it for about 3 months. Last night it turned off maybe two or three times by itself, but nothing else turned off. After a couple minutes I can get it to fire back up again. I have it plugged into a surge strip. Is that okay? Does it need a new bulb? I'm new to MH so I'd appreciate any input.

And perhaps try plugging it in to the outlet directly, just to see if the powerstrip is the issue.

Also, if possible, borrow another bulb.

I have the 250 watt version of the sunpod. Have had it for about 6 months now, and haven't had any issues.
