floating magnet algae cleaners

A friend of mine just got me the mag-float algae scrubber as a gift. Only problem is that it says "glass aquariums only" but I have an acrylic tank

Does anyone have experience with this? Will this magnet put scratches all over my tank?

YEs, If its the glass one do not use it on Acrylic or you tank will have lots of scratches. Mag float and all the rest make ones for acrylic
