Will this sump benefit me in anyway?

Hey guys, I have a 65 gallon tank I just started, theres only live rock and live sand in it right now. I was thinking of making a sump, my question is, is this sump going to benefit me by addin LR and LS or will it only be good for hiding the skimmer and heater?

http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showp...p?photo=233677

green lines are overflow and return, red is skimmer, yellow is heater, and at the bottom is ls and lr

I also did not want to grow chaeto, since tank would be in the cabnit under the tank, and didin't want lights shining.

Thanks Guys!

the lights you put under there wont really shine through. and besides, they're gonna be on a reverse cycle anyways. plus, you don't need that intense of lighting, so it really wont be that bright. i'd say the skimmer noise will drive you nuts before the light will.

i would also put the return in the middle and your "fuge" section on the opposite end of the skimmer so that you can control the flow to each side using a T and ball valves.

The added water volume is very valuable. A filter sock could be added to add physical filtration.

Most people on this site will say a sump is always a good idea, if just for the added volume.

Yes, the additional live rock, live sand and water volume will all help your tank.
