yasha haze goby pair

Someone sold me what was suppose to be a "pair" of yasha haze gobies, but now that they are in the tank, all they ever do is chase each other around nipping, and biting. At one point, one even locked its jaws around the other's mouth and started to drag it around.

I seperated the two for now, but just wondering - Did I get two of the same sex gobies? Is that the reason for the aggression? My tank is 55g - Should I take one out or would they eventually work it out between the two?

From my experience with YWG, usually the males faught to the death. I'm starting to assume that its the same case with these two.

Turning lights out a few days will help. What type of substrate do you have and amount of LR?
