Arrow thoughts on current USA fission protein skimmers...

Did you end up buying one? I got one on ebay for 100 bucks. I really can't find anyone who is actually using one. People have said not to get it, but none have tried.

Skimmer comparison chart has the smaller one rated for the actual manufactures rating.

i wound up not buying one. i think i am just going to save up and get an ASM g2. i found a place that sells them for $239. i dont think that is too bad. the octopus recirculating models look good too, but they are still pretty spendy. a similar sized octo. goes for $300. i am not in a big hurry. although inflation is so out of control recently, it seems that every week you wait, costs you $10. i still havent gotten a raise!
i had a coralife ss65 and it was ok. i didnt like the fact that it used a rio pump & it was a bit noisey, but pulled out thick, nasty skimmate. i couldnt complain for $100.

why not get a used skimmer? for 100 bucks you can easily get a G1 or a G2, maybe even a G3 for a little bit more.

I got my asm g2 for $100. Used but a little cleaning and brand new. I love it over the coralife I used to have.

I got mine from a LFS and he had a few including the bigger models but I needed it only for a 100G so a little overkill but I like it that way.
