we just purchased some zoas from a friend and along with them we got some star fish theres 4 or 5 but 4 of them are missing an arm.. their dead right? Another question the startfish that is climbing up the walk is climbing to the surface of the water is that good or bad?? does this mean the waters not right???

If it's the little asterinas that's how they reproduce(by splitting). Most starfish aren't reef safe, but some are. The second question...what do you mean by "climbing up the walk"?

well i just looked up that asterina starfish and yes thats what they look like umm are they reef safe?????because they were hitchhikers from some frags we picked uptrying to decide to keep them or not
and I meant lol We have the frags and the starfish that were on them in a seperate tank right now and were acclimating them... but as we were adding our tank water to their water the one starfish is making its way to the water line and sitting there.. Does this mean its trying to get out of the water?? Or is it just getting used to the water??? And so if the star fish are in half that means their reproducing???
