need corosive resistant fans
I have been using clip on fans to control temperature through evaporative cooling methodolagy. I am sick of having these cheap fans burn out on me. I want to get a powerful but rust resistant fan for this use... I would need it fairly small to fit under my hood and hook upto my temp controller.
I found this... http://www.ghl-kl.de/Produkte/Aquari...lerbreeze.html but I don't read german. Can anyone recomend a sourse for this type of fan? some folks use computer style fans but those are hard to clip on and focus on the top of your water. Please help. Thanks |

I am in the same boat. I like the Azoo fans but my tank rim is wider than 1/2 in. so It won't work. I killed a clipon fan in uder 6 mos. in my sump and it did not get my temps down as much as when I had fans blowing across the top of the display. I'll be tagging along.

Just so you know... I went into Home Depot today to see what I can find... went into the plumbing department and whala... I found what I was looking for. They are called "induction fans... they come in 4", 6" and 8" diameters. I purchased the 6" diameter which is rated at 250 CFM (cubic foot per minute). Its a fan that is normally installed in a round duct to boost flow. Its perfect. its basically a 6" tube with a plastic fan inside that runs super fast. anyway I purchased some 6" hose clamps and some metal straping and ran home. ran some electrical line and hooked it up to my temp controler. They are nice.... so far they seem to be doing a better job than my clip ons ever did...
