You sure are open minded. Make a few more trips around the world, things may slowly become a little less "strange" and "foreign" for you. The ocean provided food for your descendants long before it provided food for your fish.
Know before you speak, and if you don't know, don't speak.

I have some friends from New Orleans (excuse me, Nawleans) who suck the guts out of crawdad heads.
They say I'm a sissy for not doing it. I tell them I don't eat bait. Pinch the tails, suck the heads. |

My mother was a curator of an art museum, and would often travel to other countries with the artwork on loan. One time their group was out to dinner (Japan i believe, but I'm not sure). A friend ordered eel soup and it came as broth with a live eel swimming around in it!
Funny you mention this, I actually buy a lot of my fish food at an asian market. Roe, krill, small fish, nori, etc.

![]() ![]() I like the plate ![]() Flake doesn't taste like much but those probably taste pretty good. Someone put some orange sauce on a silverside(not freezer burned) and try it out for us. Don't ask whats in pho, just go for the one that has the most ingredients.....

oh btw -
i would eat that plate-o-fish anyday! add a lil tabasco then dipped in butter - tastey! anyone ever try KAY-GOKI from korea ??? real delicasy and tastes like chicken - since the 88 seoul olympics its become harder and harder to find in korea - tried to take it off menus bec of worldwide press at time. (dog) one time was riding a bus out of Seoul (true story) and over there - there are no traffic laws (seemingly atleast!) as there is so much traffic and motor bikes flying around everywhere (think ant farm) in all directions... and it can take hours to move 30miles on road... so as our bus waited thru traffic was looking over and saw a tiny dog tied up to a small tree betw the sidewalk and the street - then 2 seconds later a motor scooter went flying around our bus up on the sidewalk... and hit the dog as it flew by - literally this dog went flying around the tree on its leash i dont know how many times (like a merry go round) dont know if the dog died or not (presumed) but the strangest thing is a woman (AJEEMAH) came out of the shop or building behind where the dog was tied up... simply looked down picked up the dog and took it inside - sort of like oh well no big deal (no emotion nothing like picking up roadkill from side of road) then i wondered............ is this how they tenderize the meat by intentionally placing them out there in harms way ??????? ![]() dont get me wrong - i liked it over there and am not making fun of it (i spent a lot of time over there and cycled (bike) all throughout the country - felt safer on a bike then in a car)... i also have an open mind which well if one chooses to travel outside the country - is a necessity... whos to say other people should live like us ??? (besides bush that is!)... not much different then being in a 5 star restaurant in europe (austria) and having the beautiful (5 star *****) waitress SMELL'IN LIKE MAJOR BODY ODOR - now that was GROSSSSS... in a restaurant of all places and a beautiful woman at that!... point being that hygiene is not the same in europe as it is in usa nor viewed same regards Last edited by K' Family Reef; 01/17/2008 at 01:12 PM. |
