Tropic Marin Pro Reef Salt

I just started using the Tropic Marin Reef Salt to do water changes. I was under the impression that brand new salt water should have an ORP around 220. When the new Tropic Marin water passes my ORP probe it is dropping all the way down to 180 and the water is taking a long time to recover, it takes 4-5 days to climb back up to 300. Anyone had this problem and is it hurting anything?
