Best Place for Live Rock
Anyone know a really good place online to purchase live rock? I called at my LFS around here and their LR varies from $7.99-$9.99 a pound! I know, I know, its the basic going price for LR nowadays, but their pieces are smaller than my fist and I'm trying to fill a 55 gallon with LR.
If anyone knows somewhere, please let me know. I have tried ebay before and got sent live BASE rock, unknowingly. I also have looked on liveaquaria.com and their packages are expensive....I want to buy, by the piece, if at all possible. Thanks in advance. --Jim C. |

7.99 dang you need to shop around. I have 2 types of LR in my tank. Fiji from my LFS, they sell it at 3.49/lb. Then I got 15 lbs from Tampa Bay Saltwater. The TBS rock was alot more live than the fiji. I did just find out about a company called Hawaii Live Rock were you get to dive for your own rock, I think the next time I go to Hawaii I might look into it.

I had good service with reeftopia.com
Not loaded with growth, but not bad and the price is great. You could use if for a base for sure. |
