lighting problem

l am just setting up my new 170 gal tank and have a question about the lights my fish guy wants to use. My tank is 68" long so we were going to offset 16 t-5 lights to fill the tank length. The lights he sent me are terra grow t-5 lights with built in ballast system and upgraded bulbs. So far i can only find these lights in garden's and not in any other fish tanks. Can someone please tell me if they are any good or not.

Those are grow lights for plants. Have you considered other options besides 100 fluorescent bulbs? When you consider you have to replace those bulbs at least once a year at $25-$30 each, that's not real economical.
