help with my 180
I just got my 180 gal last weekend. I need some help picking out a skimmer and two pumps for my returns. I am looking at a euro reef rs250 which has a realistic rating of 250gal. Is that accurate? Can I go with the rs180 instead? I also need suggestions on two return pumps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I heard the pump on the 180 is a little louder, and it has been suggested to me the 250 would be better for a moderate to heavy stocked 180.
Why 2 return pumps? I have an eheim 1262 and it's perfect for me, one of my best purchases.

I would just run a Y or T fitting and use one return pump, i run a ball valve on each of mine to adjust each side.

I run a basement sump with my 180G, so my pump wouldn't apply. I have a friend with a 180 that uses a single Eheim 1262 and it works great. I would choose an RS250 over an RS180. Quieter and a more powerful skimmer.

I like the idea of only having one return pump....I looked at this pump and its rating is 900gph...if I had it for two returns...i would have 450 per side and that does not include the 4 to 5 feet for it to travel. how much more flow do you have your tanks and what do you use?
