Turning Canister Into Fuge

Ive seen loads of people turn HOB filters into fuges. But what about turning canisters into a fuge?

Anybody tried it, I thought i might.

I can see atleast two issues with it.
1) To much flow.
2) How would you get light to the macro algea?
