i dont understand your first question, unless it is while they hurt anything, which they wont.

i have a signal goby and a candy pistol shrimp, they are in my 33 gal, with only a randolls shrimp goby, and they hide a lot, but are fun when i see them, and very cute.

Pistols can blast things when they get mad. Especially Tiger pistols. You're probably best off with a Randalls. There's a video on youtube of a pistol killing a cleaner shrimp, check it out.
