Using Eheim 1250 as return - plumbing help needed!

I have a 75g Oceanic RR tank that I used a Mag7 in for the return. The summers in Austin are very hot and I had to set the AC thermostat at 77 even when no one was home during the day to keep the temp around 82F. To cut down on the heat going into the tank, as well as to reduce the return gph, it was suggested that I switch to an Eheim 1250.

The pump arrived last week and I was looking forward to using it but I am having real trouble hooking it up to my existing layout. The Eheim says it is a 1/2" output but that is only after a 3/8" male fitting ends in a barb or a smooth cup. The Oceanic returns are all 3/4" and I haven't been able to figure out a way to make it go.

Any ideas?
