Light acclimation question
So I'm going from 250 Watt 10K DE ushios to 250 Watt 14K DE ushios and I want to make sure I acclimate the corals correctly.
I bought some black fiberglass window screening and I was planning on using 4 layers and removing 1 every 2 days for an 8 day acclimation. Does this sound OK to you guys? Any pointers or anything are more than welcome. Thanks, Tyler

If I understand you,,,, you are going from the same watt bulb to the same,,, only a lower par ?
If the only change is going from a old bulb to a new bulb, then I would only use a couple layers removing one layer every 3 days. TIf the 10k bulb is new (less than 2 months) then really nothing should be needed.

Yeah, I know the 14k has less par but I don't want to take any chances. The 10k's that are in there now are about 16 months old.
So maybe just 2 layers and remove 1 every 3 days then? Thanks for the help! Waxx

16 months,,, maybe go with 3 layers every 2-3 days and watch for negative coral reaction

And change the bulbs a little sooner.

OK, will do. I won't be waiting this long to replace the bulbs next time.
Thanks again.

I applaud you for being careful, but I would be blown away if anything reacted negatively in your tank. I swap bulbs all of the time and have never had an issue. I go from 10K to 20K and everywhere in between.
