I'm not a big advocate of using uv, but like what LockeOak asked, what kind of parasites do you have or are worried about getting?

Oops you posted right before I did. IMO I think UV works great when you have specific problems (like a large algae bloom or something like that) but for the most part you don't need them. Like I said this is just my opinion, maybe you have already done your research and decided that UVs are worth adding. Either way good luck!

IMO not really. They can help with some problems. Like I mentioned before if your tank turns in to a pool of green water a UV light can help clear it up. So for short term problems it would work great but for the most part you wouldn't need it 24/7.

Sounds like preventative maintenance to the extreme to me. Personally, I don't believe in using UV or ozone unless you have a very specific need ie the aforementioned pea-green algae bloom that plagues koi ponds. Otherwise, IMO for every one bad organism you kill with UV or ozone, you're killing a thousand good organisms in the water column.

I have 2 TuroTwists, but that is the only I have experience with and I like it.
If you get Ich in your 90g, I would run the 36W w/ a MJ1200 to kill parasites.
The bulb will degrade over a time of 4-6 months to the point that it will not kill Ich, so do what you think, read the more info section on that link of the TurboTwist.
I run the 18w at 100gph on my 65g when I see a spot or 2 on a new fish--it seems to help IME over the past three years of using UV--I have bought new bulbs twice--they are expensive.
You want at least 1-2x turnover/hour at a low enough flow rate to kill Ich.

I've used 5 or 6 UV sterilizers. The twist was the worst. The twisty tube inside was not clear, and melted after a few months. Rainbow Lifeguard makes the best ones I've used.

I have had turbotwists running for months at a time, and never had any "melting issues". I don't see how this could happen, and the twists are not supposed to be clear. Mine were bought in the past 3 years, maybe there have been improvements?

I run a Rainbow Lifeguard and I like the way it cleared my water up.

True, it will kill anything that passes through it, but I disagree that it kills many good things our tanks need.

I wouldn't run a tank without it.
