Kalk Vs. Calcium Reactor
I'm thinking of buying a calcium reactor for my 90 gal. reef tank. Is there a advantage to using a kalk reactor rather than a calcium reactor?

lots of people use both. The CA reactor will generally lower a tanks pH and the addition of a kalk reactor will help boost the pH. With a kalk reactor, you will still need to add CA and ALK from time to time. The kalk just helps maintain those levels a lil bit better than doing daily dosing. The CA reactor will keep your CA and ALK levels where you set them and usually dont require any additional dosing.

Keep in mind your Ca and Alk consumption rates will influence the decision. Tank size and evaporation rate will as well.
A large SPS tank will have a hard time getting by on kalk alone, a small mixed reef might easily be able to.
