220v or 110v
Ive been looking at replacing my pump while looking aroung I started thinking that mabe I should go with a 220 pump instead of 110 . To my understanding 220 motors draw less current and should be cheaper to operate. Is any one out there using 220 pumps? What other advantages or disadvantages?

A 220V pump will use have the current a 110V pump will but it will use about the same Watts which is what you pay for. The Advantages to using 220V pumps are: smaller wire size, better load balance. You may get a little bit better efficiency. I have been looking and have noticed, if you don't need it buying a good pump that produces less head pressure usually uses less electricity, on average.
