How to clean pumps

It's time for a spring cleaning for my tank. What is the suggested maintenance for pumps on a tank. What should I do to clean the magnets etc... I have really great coralline coverage on my pumps and I'm not sure if this is good or bad. If it's not good what is the best way to remove it?

Pumps are Maxijet
Korillias
JBJ Dual Outputs.

Just soak them in vinegar for awhile and they should come out looking brand new.

I just get a bucket filled with 1/4 of hot water then get a bottle of vinegar pour it in then jsut let the pump circulate the water depndign if its submersable or not i put the whole thing in or external jsut have it suck the water. Usually within 2 hours it's looking like brand new and in 24 hours you wont see a spec of calcium buildup anywhere.

for routine maintenance i simply run mine for a few hours. I have a old sump set up to take care of submersible and external pumps and usually do them all at the same time one right after another to save on vinegar but more so to save on the hassle mutliple times....
