lighting fixture questions...
Maybe I'll get a better response here...
So I want to upgrade my lighting from the single light hood that came with my tank so that I can eventually keep more corals.. I have a 29g tank that is 30in long and the current bulb is 24in question #1: Do I need a 30in fixture or the 24in fixture? (I've heard both) question #2: I was looking at these 2 fixtures: http://www.aquariumguys.com/lunaraqualight4.html and http://www.aquariumguys.com/dualsatellite3.html anyone ever have any experience with either of these? I would like to use the lunar lights and have a good quality fixture, but I want to get the right thing.. question #3: Am I looking at the right type of fixtures? question #4: Is there something better for close to the same price or cheaper that would work as well? Thanks in advance for your help! ~Melinda

i have 2 of the coral life fixtures for my 75 gallon and my 55 gallon. i am waiting for my new fixture for my 20 gallon to get to me. i would say that if you have a 30" tank get a 30" fixture. reason being is the light will cover the entire tank instead of having "dead spots" (no direct light). i use my fixtures with glass lids and have them both inside hoods i made myself that have multiple fans for cooling. make sure you get the fixtures with cooling fans, they do help. you can look on e-bay, same lights for like $50.00 cheaper. hope this helps you out.
