Skimmate is almost black?
When I clean the collection cup the stuff I pour out is mostly green, but when I clean the riser on the collection cup it's black. Not dark green, black. I run my finger around and get a big glob of black mud. Is that the norm for most of you?

It's a sign your pulling out the organic compounds. Sounds like the skimmer is working.

Coolness. I guess no matter what color it is, as long as it is collecting, it's good.
