Help With My Twisted Anemone

My BTA moved himself about 3 days ago. He popped through a small hole tetween 2 rocks. He seemed to be fine, he even ate a shrimp earlier today. When I was looking at the tank tonight I noticed that he was stretching out up to the top of the water line & he twisted his trunk around a few times. Is he ok. I have a link below to a picture of what he looks like. Please someone look at it and let me know whats up...... Thanks

Well, I haven't seen that before. Is the animal in a high flow zone? Does it retract at night?

The tank is a BioCube #14. It is about 16" wide. He is in the center, up at the top & the return head is about 3 inches to the left. He used to be all the way to the left until 3 days ago. I bumped a rock & a 2 rocks fell. As I was fixing the rocks He shrunk up and went behind the rocks. The next morning he was in this new space where he is now. He popped through this hole. The hole is only about the size of a nickle. He seemed fine. The only thing I can think of is after I gave him the shrimp today, maybe he is bloated and cant get back through the hole. You know how they like to shrink up and digest the food.

Should I move the rocks so he can maybe move.

I would leave the animal and the landscaping alone. More rearrangement is likely just more stress.

I'd just keep feeding it every few days. As long as it's eating, it's probably okay.

Thanks everyone.... All I can say is ((((( HOLY CRAP )))))
I just checked on the anemone and he untwisted himself & looks fine. What the %!(^%$.

My concern now is that when he moved the other day, he spreds out up at the top by the water line. His arms go all the way to the water line. What will happen when I do a water change?? At where he is, when I do the water change, he will be 2 inches out of the water. Will he shrink up and go down ??

thats a good question. a lot of anemones can survive for awhile out of the water, but I'm not sure about the ones we keep in aquariums.

The anemone will be fine. Some of mine are near the top of the tank and get exposed a bit during water changes. They just sulk a while.
