Does Caulerpa cause this??????

I was told that Caulerpa will crash a tank if it does not receive light 24 hours a day. Is this true. I have aot of it as well as chaeto in my fuge.

It can if it goes sexual. Some say 24 hour lighting prevents this. Some say it won't. I just stay away.

so just pull it out and use chaeto to reduce nitrates??????

Yes i would.

What kind of substrate do you have?

SSB,DSB,or BB?

Water changes work well for reducing nitrates too.

In the tank itself I have a shalllow bed of aragonite. I my fuge i have a layer of miracle mud then aragonite the mm again. MY trates are running 20. water changes are not affecting it at all. I only feed a pinch of food once daily.

I always usually have a little nitrate. I could never get it to go down to 0. maybe it's because I have too much fish, or that I never used a nitrate remover. try one of those nitrate remover media in a phosban reactor or something.
