Feeding Cyclop-Eeze

The fine people at LiveAquaria told me the best food for my fish is Cyclop-Eeze freeze dried. At my LFS they said Cyclop-Eeze frozen cubes.....Any thoughts

I have 1 perc clown / 1 royal gramma / 1 six line wrasse

thanks

I like the small granular cyclopeeze and the freeze dried. I always feed at night

Is the freeze dried the fine powder stuff she was talking about.
are you saying that you are using 2 dif kind of cyclop-Eeze.
1 time a day should be ok.....or 1 time every other day.

I would recommend for those fish Ocean Formula two and use the cyclopeeze as a treat not as the only staple.

How do you keep the cyclopeeze from floating and all ending up in your filter sock? I've tried soaking it in saltwater for 10 minutes or so but a lot of it ends up in the sump.

I feed frozen cyclopeeze every couple of days for the coral I have including my gorgonian and feather dusters. The fish also go after it. However, I have my skimmer, filters, and powerheads on one power strip and I shut it down a minute after I put the cyclopeeze in. It seems to me like one would want the cyclopeeze to settle down on the coral. I turn everything back on again after about 30-45 minutes. I may switch one small powerhead to a different strip so that I can keep the cyclopeeze gently moving throughout the tank but still not getting sucked up by the filters or skimmer. I'm not an expert but it seems to work.

Yep, that's what I was leaning toward...I guess I was just looking for something "easier". (I'm always afraid of overflowing the sump.)
I have a powerhead on a different power strip so I can try it your way and let you know how it works out.

BTW my wife is an OT down here in Jax. She loves it.

when I feed I turn off the main pump and just keep the powerheads on in the tank for circulation--45 min to 1 hour

i don't think feather dusters eat cyclopeeze. either do leathers. i use it primariy for LPS. whatever i spot feed(at night, when the lights are out) i don't think my fish get any of- i think the crabs/shrimp/nassarius/bristleworms get the rest.

i have some of the freeze dried which came in a small jar made by tetra(called microcrabs) which i have to hold a pinch of and submerge it before it will sink., but i also use the frozen. the frozen doesn't float , so you might try that instead.

i turn off all pumps and powerheads and then get in there with a big syringe..and spot the corals that do eat food this size.
i wait about a half hour or so and then turn everything back on. whatever doesn't get consumed gets pulled down to the filter sock.
as far as feeding fish like RG's or 6 lines, i guess use yur best judgement not to overfeed/underfeed. same as any other food.

it's a good practice to ensure that all animals under your care get a good variety of foods.

Hey bach2pilot I put occupational therapist in my profile wondering whether there were any reef-keeping OTs out there. So far not that anyone has indicated. But say hi to your OT wife for me. I work in the school system here. If your wife wants to get in touch, have her PM me.

hmmm don't buy that one

what might have been said is that korilia pumps can't be run on interval timers like maxijets
as far as the main pump--you have to turn that off everytime you do a water change anyways

if you have a sump then just cut up small enough hunks put it in the return line and the pump will distribute it all over the tank from the loc lines-----then turn of the pump for an hour and let them feed.
