any advice on esv bionic dosing?

I am going to get some esv bionic 2 part today and start dosing. currently I have a FOWLR and would like to start to add corals in a week or so basically when I get my levels to were they need to be. I been testing for cal and alk and since I have not been dosing anything to maintain the levels that I need they are low.

The only question that I have is do I put the supplement right into my sump or in my ato bucket. the thing that I am worried about with the ato bucket is I am not sure what my daily evaporation rate is and in CT it fluctuates with the seasons Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you put it in a high flow area. Also don't dose too much of it at a time. When you add the Alk part it will bring up your Ph. I read that you should be carefully not to raise the Ph more than 0.2 when adding this.
When I add 30ml to my 156g tank it does bring up the ph for 0.2 for a little while and then it slowly starts dropping again (I use a Pinpoint PH meter).
You can use the reef chemistry calculator to find out how much you will need to get to your desired level:

Do a water change and test after to see where you are really lacking. You can't test a week later and guess then. Once you have tested after a water change, it should make it easier to maintain your levels.

I just dump it right into my vortech and it gets blown around. Dont put it in your top off bucket! The two parts can't be mixed in the same bucket.

Ok so do not put it in the ato bucket so I guess that my best bet is to add it to the sump in the compartment where my return pump is and have this be sent to the DT. The PH shouldn't be that big of a deal mind needs to be raised a little so that may be a bit of a benefit for me and yes I do plan to start off the dosing slow and in small amounts

Yes,use the calculator.
You might be surprised at how much it's going to take to raise the Calcium in a 150 gal.
BTW...I dosed 90 ml of calcium suppliment with no ill effects.
30 ml. in a 150 gallon will probably raise your calcium 4 ppm.

Good,

It works pretty good.I was shocked at how much I needed to add to my tank when it got down to 380ppm calcium and wanted 450 ppm. You're going to want some Mg. suppliment also.I've never had much luck testing Magnesium with the store bought kits.
I've had mine checked at the local reefer meetings. You're going to want between 1250 ppm and 1400ppm.I was even up to 1500ppm and it really effected nothing.Magnesium helps keep calcium and alk in solution. So you wont have the snow storm effect happen.

ESV sells a magnesium suppliment as well. That's what I used and after half the bottle over several month my Mg. stays around 1300ppm.Magnesium is used up much more slowly than calcium or alk.So really, once you reach you're target the only time it's needs to be supplimented is when changing water.
