ZooOOoooOoo Question

Will zoo's that have been out of light for some time recover if there placed into better lighting situations? For example i recovered a frag that had fallen behind my LR about 4 months ago and some of the Zoo's are open while others are still firmly closed. Is it a matter of time before they open up again or are they donesky?

They very well could open back up again!

I had a small frag do the same thing. It took almost two months of being out in the light before they all re-opened again. It's certainly worth a shot. Even if the whole colony doesn't re-open, the new ones will still take over.

I'm going to post the pics of the ones that did...they are off the hook. Lime green and bright red ones.

i think they will come back if the polyp is still intact.
i'd take my time putting the frag in direct light though...keep it low, or partially out of direct light for a while to let it re-adjust.

I don't have a lot of experience, however the fact that they are still there and havn't melted away is a plus. I have had some stay closed for quite some time before opening. They managed to survive the ordeal, time will tell. As stated above don't blast them with direct light they might react like vampires.
