Sorry to bug you all again

Im setting up my sump/fuge, it is built, i have the pumps, intake ect.... i have the dual HOB filters 1000GPH and my 9.5 mag drive has a 3/4 hole that i was wanting to put a piece on to make it an inch output with a splitter at the end. however im finding it hard to get a 1 inch hose and all the connections from the 3/4 to the inch connections....... Should i just make it a 3/4 inch output? is it that big of a deal?

you should be able to just do a 3/4 female, then like that to a 3/4 x 1" reducer fitting.. then you can take that fitting stick it in a 1" female, buy a 1" threaded tube tee... or do whatever you want in 1" lowes and home depot places or a good small hardware would have all thoes pieces.. it would be cheap like 5-7$

however you don't want to take a 9.5 and bring it up to 1" you wil loose your pressure.it would come out so slow you wouldn't be able to use it as a presssured return.... ESPECIALLY if you split it into 2- 1" pipes

i run 2 3/4" pipes off A MAG 24... ACTUALLY... it might be larger than 3/4 either way i only run two 3/4 returns... i would say to keep good pressure i would run all 3/4 or if you are running two lines with a tee, i would say run 1/2" ..... are you using loc-line for your returns or are you just using pvc 90's?

remember, go big into the pump, and smaller out, and even smaller at the loc lines/return nozzles into the tank.

im not familiar with the lock line? but i think i will just assemble it as you all say with the 3/4 inch and a hose that goes to the splitter. it does make sense that it would lose major pressure if i increased the hose size. its not broke and im not gonna try to fix it

I'm still trying to get the picture here. You have a sump--is it under the tank--if so how far?
Do you have a protein skimmer for in the sump. If so why are you worrying about having hob filters?
With live rock, sand bed and protein skimmer --that is all the filtration you need

With an in the sump skimmer--your flow should be 5-10 times the tank vol in gph or match the rate of your skimmer

So I can't picture why you need to worry about the size of your lines

loc lines are used on the returns into your tank--you can direct the return flow any where in the tank

I just put the sump/fuge together. I was going to put it under the tank, its a normal size 75 gal with stand, i was gonna put it in the compartment under. i have a protien skimmer the red sea one that hangs off the back of the tank. im going to put this in my sump when i get it all straight. everything is ready to go and all i have to do is put the hoses, splitter and lock line together after i purchase everything. i was just trying to make sure i bought all the right stuff and was going to be prepared for when i turn this thing on.....thank you all again so much..... if i run across anything i'll be back.....i promise that !! RC is the best
